Understanding Due Dates in Business Central

In Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, due dates are calculated by default based on the document date, not the posting date. This might come as a surprise to some, as the document date is the date when the order is created, which doesn't always align with when the transaction is posted.

🔄 For those needing the due date based on the posting date, a simple workaround is to ensure that the posting date matches the document date. This adjustment aligns the two key dates but isn't an out-of-the-box behavior in BC.

This distinction is crucial for accurate financial planning and compliance with payment terms that hinge on transaction dates. If your workflow requires different settings, consider customizing your BC environment to better suit your business needs.
